Montenegro has a European Tax Free Shopping system for refunding VAT on goods purchased in the country. Here are some tips on how to get some money back for your purchases.

How to apply for Tax Free in Montenegro?

Montenegro_custom
Tax Free is 19%, and the minimum purchase amount for a VAT refund must be 100€. Stores that participate in the program have a Tax Free sign at the entrance.

  • When making a purchase, ask the seller to fill out a special tax refund form
  • At the airport, present the packaged goods, receipts and document issued in the store to the customs service, and the staff will issue a special money-back voucher

On a note!
The voucher is valid for 3 months from the date of purchase , the return takes place at the store where the product was purchased. If you are not planning to visit the country in the near future, we recommend taking a day trip to Croatia, Albania or Bosnia and Herzegovina and issuing a voucher at the border. Then just visit the store where the purchase was made and return 19% of the amount.
