I have already told you that I recently became a mother. The birth took place in Dubai. I shared some of the peculiarities of giving birth in the UAE in previous posts: here about how not to get into trouble for 30 thousand dollars , and here – why you absolutely need to be married . Now I will show you what a standard hospital ward looks like, what they feed women in labor, what bonuses you can count on… If you are interested, keep reading. And don’t forget to subscribe to the channel: there will be many more posts about life in Dubai.

Our room was individual: there were places for the expectant mother, the baby and the accompanying person (my husband was with me). No rows of women in labor! It was comfortable.

I especially smiled at the sky on the ceiling, which served as a night light. You lie there, looking at the clouds, as if you had come not to give birth, but to rest 🙂

Meals in the hospital are also individual, you can choose dishes from the menu. And the choice is impressive, like in a restaurant. For the expectant mother, everything is free (covered by insurance), the accompanying person can choose dishes from the same menu, but for an additional fee. Here, for example, is one of the lunches.

Before giving birth, I made a list of what I needed to take with me. It turned out to be a whole suitcase! In fact, I could get by with the bare minimum – a change of clothes for myself and the baby. Everything else was provided at the hospital: neither I nor the baby needed anything.

And when we were discharged, we also packed a few bags with us! They gave me this set with diapers, wipes, and hygiene products. Not bad help for young, inexperienced parents, you’ll have everything you need for the first time.

Let me remind you that if you do not have insurance, then this hospital will charge you more than 4 thousand dollars for a natural birth (2 days of stay), 7.6 thousand in case of a cesarean (3-4 days in the hospital). This is if everything goes according to plan, without surprises.

That’s all for today. Young mothers, what were the conditions under which you gave birth?
