How much money to take on vacation in Turkey? How much does it cost to eat in Turkish cafes? How much does public transport and taxis cost? How much do souvenirs cost in Turkey?

Any trip, even on an “All Inclusive” package, requires additional costs (travel by public transport, souvenirs, excursions, etc.). Therefore, when planning your budget for a trip, you must first familiarize yourself with the pricing policy in the service and trade sector of the country where you will rest. Today we will talk about the budget for holidays in Turkey.

Food cost

It happens that constant breakfasts / lunches / dinners at the hotel get bored. I would like to have a bite to eat somewhere in the city, in a local cozy restaurant or cafe. How much will this pleasure cost? Average bill in a cafe/restaurant per person:

  • breakfast: $1.82
  • lunch: $5.72 – $6.5
  • dinner: $8.32 – $9.1

The cost of some dishes in a cafe / restaurant:

  • Lentil soup: $1.3
  • Chicken soup: $1.82
  • Meat kebab 100 gr.: $2.6
  • Kefte: $3.64
  • Syutlatch (rice pudding with milk): $1.04
  • Pilaf: $1.04
  • Salads: $1.3 – $1.82
  • Spaghetti: $2.08
  • Beer 0.5 l: $1.04

Prices for some products in stores may change with the season.

Public transport

  • Dolmush is the most popular type of public transport in the resort cities of Turkey. These are small fixed-route taxis that allow you to choose a stop yourself. Its cost will be from $0.52 to $1.3.
  • You can get from one resort to another by a comfortable bus , which will cost you an average of $15.6 -$16.1.
  • Ferry crossings one way will cost $1.3.
  • Travel by  tram – $ 0.26.
  • Those who prefer the most comfortable movement can use taxi services , which will cost $ 0.52 / km.

Note that when ordering a taxi, it is better to calculate the approximate mileage in advance so as not to fall for the cunning tricks of Turkish drivers, who, using your ignorance of the language and locality, can drive along the longest route.

Excursions

If excursions are not included in your tour, they can be purchased from street tour agencies (cheaper, but less quality) or from an agency assigned to the hotel (a little more expensive, but comfort and quality are guaranteed).

  • One of the most popular budget excursions – rafting – will cost $32.5 – $37.2
  • Paragliding (one of the top expensive ones) will cost from $78 to $93.6
  • Trips to interesting places from $50

Rent a Car

The most budget car will cost you $35 or more, depending on the model you choose. Also, a deposit of typically $300 will be required if payment is made in cash. But if you rent a car at a hotel, this may not be required.

  • Diesel = $1.33

It is also worth noting that the longer the booking period, the cheaper it is to rent a car per day.
