Which resorts in Montenegro have the best beaches? Which resorts in Montenegro have ancient architecture? Which resorts in Montenegro can you go skiing and snowboarding at?

Montenegro is an amazing country: on such a small piece of land there are high mountains covered with forests and deep rivers flowing into the clear Adriatic Sea. And picturesque cities and towns captivate guests with their indescribable atmosphere.
Let’s look together at the resorts in Montenegro and which one to choose as a starting point for exploring the country.

Budva

Budva is a center of active recreation. This is the most popular resort with the most developed infrastructure. Budva boasts a variety of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. For lovers of nightlife, the resort offers a dozen nightclubs, and for quiet walks there is an excellent and well-maintained embankment and a yacht marina. The old town of Budva is a cozy place with narrow medieval streets, cute cafes and a unique atmosphere.
The beaches in Budva are pebbly and quite crowded. You can escape from the crowds of beachgoers on “Hawaii” – that’s what Budva residents call the island of St. Nicholas, located directly opposite the city.

Becici and Rafailovici

Becici and Rafailovici are lively villages near Budva. This place is chosen by many hotels, including well-known hotel chains such as Iberostar, Sentido. There is also a wide selection of apartments. These resorts are perhaps the most versatile; they are located close to the rather noisy and active Budva, and at the same time it is calmer to relax here.
Becici beach with small pebbles received the Grand Prix in Paris in the mid-20th century as the most beautiful in Europe!

Sveti Stefan

St. Stefan is the most romantic resort on the coast of Montenegro. The “calling card” of the entire country is a small peninsula connected to the coast by a narrow isthmus and extremely beautiful. Nearby are the former royal residence Milocer with an excellent park.
The resort is dominated by boutique hotels and apartments, many of which boast wonderful views of the sea and St. Stephen.
The resort’s beach is small pebbles with a beautiful pinkish tint at sunrise and sunset.

Petrovac

The most relaxed and family resort in the Budva Riviera. Olive groves and coniferous forests surrounding the village create a charming atmosphere and a mild microclimate. There is no vibrant nightlife here and after 24:00 vacationers can only enjoy the sound of the Adriatic Sea. An ancient Venetian fortress, small churches, and of course an excellent beach with very fine pebbles/sand – all this makes Petrovac an excellent option for a holiday in Montenegro.

Kotor

Venetian Kotor is one of the most picturesque cities on the Adriatic Sea, whose old city center is protected by UNESCO as a cultural heritage. Situated on the shores of the Bay of Kotor, which in turn is on the list of the most beautiful in the world, Kotor has a rich history and beautiful architecture with many Orthodox and Catholic churches.
The lack of full-fledged beaches (here they are mostly platform) is more than compensated by incredible views of the Bay of Kotor, rich cultural heritage and centuries-old history, which dates back to the times of Ancient Rome.

Zabljak

Zabljak is a ski resort in the Durmitor mountains and is the highest town in the Balkans (1450 m above sea level). There are two popular attractions nearby: the Black Lake in Durmitor National Park and the Durđević Bridge. The foothills of the mountains are surrounded by picturesque lakes, and the resort itself is located next to the Tara River canyon (the second deepest in the world after the Grand Canyon).
The slopes are covered with snow more than 100 days a year, there are three tracks: for beginners, intermediate difficulty and professionals.

Kolasin
