Prague is a very romantic city. Here you can spend a wonderful vacation with your loved one, take a sea of beautiful photos and go home with dozens of vivid impressions. We tell you which places in the Czech capital are most suitable for walking couples.

1. Charles Bridge

The visiting card of Prague. Come here at dawn to have time to enjoy the view of the awakening city in relative silence, before the bridge is filled with crowds of tourists.

By the way, who didn’t know, on the bridge there are only copies of ancient sculptures. The originals are kept in casemates under the Visegrad fortress. Also a very interesting, albeit little-known place where the film “Mission: Impossible 4” was filmed.

2. Prague Castle

The heart of modern Prague and, concurrently, the largest castle complex in the world. The residence of the current Czech President Milos Zeman is located here, as well as several palaces and the main Catholic church of the country – St. Vitus Cathedral.

Entrance to the territory of the City is free, you just need to go through security at the entrance. For an additional fee, guests of the complex have access to the paid part of the cathedral, to the Royal Palace, as well as to the famous Golden Street, where alchemists once lived.

3. Visegrad

The place where, according to legend, Prague began. Nowadays it is a fortress with a beautiful park on a hill above the Vltava. It offers a beautiful view of the city, and there are significantly fewer tourists to Vysehrad than to Prague Castle.

This place is a must for lovers to visit also because in the Church of Saints Peter and Paul, whose gloomy spiers rise above the fortress, there is a scapula bone of that same Valentine, the patron saint of loving hearts.

4. Letna

A large, beautiful park where you can take a long, leisurely stroll, looking at Prague from above. Be sure to find a place from where you can see the seven bridges that encircle the Vltava. You will immediately recognize this look: it is one of the most popular among photographers.

Also located on Letná is the huge Prague Metronome. In its place some time ago there was an impressive monument to Joseph Stalin. Now the site with Metronome is a favorite place for summer night “parties” of local youth.

5. Petrin

The hill that Marina Tsvetaeva wrote about. A place where cherry blossoms bloom wildly in spring, fringing views of Prague Castle with a pink haze. A park where a mini-replica of the French Eiffel Tower is located. An observation deck where you need to go up on a real funicular tram. All this is Petrin.

For those who can’t get enough of the park itself, there is also a planetarium and a mirror maze at the top.

6. Kampa

Kampa Island is definitely one of the most cozy and romantic places for walks in Prague. The so-called “Venice of Prague” is located here, which got its name for its unique atmosphere, although there is only one canal, the Chertovka Canal.

Kampa is also home to Prague’s Museum of Modern Art and David Cerny’s famous sculptures of black babies with barcode faces.

7. Grebovka (Havlíčkovy sady)

A very cozy park in the Vinohrady district of Prague. There are never crowds of tourists here, but there is a lot to see: at different levels of Grebovka there is a small lake with bridges, a grotto, a fountain, an observation deck, a bar, vineyards and a children’s corner.

This place is ideal for those who want to retire and feel like a local resident, because most visitors simply do not know about this park.

8. New world

Another location for lovers of non-tourist places. This is a quiet, mysterious and poetic street, which is located near the former city walls. Here, among the small cute houses, the spirit of the Middle Ages still reigns.

Initially, servants and craftsmen serving Prague Castle settled on New World Street. Later she was chosen by artists, poets and other romantic natures. Real estate here, by the way, despite the tiny size of the buildings, is quite expensive.

9. Old Town Hall

The same famous tower with the Astronomical Clock on the Old Town Square (the heart of the Old Town!). For an additional fee (250 CZK) you can get inside the town hall: go down to its dungeons (to the level of the first buildings in the area!) and go up to the observation deck.

The latter definitely deserves the attention of couples in love. How many marriage proposals have been made here! And it’s not surprising, because it’s very difficult to refuse when you look at such beauty 🙂 Note to men.

10. Smichovskaya embankment

The embankment near the Railway Bridge, where there are always a lot of swans. You get very beautiful photos here. The birds are friendly, but you shouldn’t abuse their attention too much 🙂

What can you feed swans? Ornithologists do not recommend using bread for this. Ideally, buy special food at a pet store (oats or barley). You can also feed the birds vegetables by finely chopping them first.
