December
It rarely snows during the day along the coast. It’s cool in the mountains, about 0°C, and the slopes are covered with snow. It often rains and sleet in the valleys; walking in such weather is uncomfortable.

In winter, seaside resorts are sparsely populated, all hotels are closed until the next season. Winter is the best time to relax in the mountains in Georgia; the ski resort season opens in December.
January
In January the weather is not significantly different from December. Skiing season continues in the mountains, but it is damp and cold in the valleys and along the coast.

Snow does not fall at resorts in January every year. A cold evening blows from the sea; the most comfortable time to spend time is in the mountains, skiing.
February
In February there is snow in the mountains and the skiing season continues. It gets warmer near the coast by the end of the month, but a cold wind blows from the sea.

Be sure to take warm clothes and shoes if you want to walk along the sea. Officially, the ski season ends at the end of February.

March
By the end of March the gardens are in bloom, but the weather is changeable. During the day it is warm along the coast, but at night the temperature can drop to zero.

There is snow in the mountains above 2000 m, but the skiing season is closed. By the end of the month, by the end of the month you can walk around the coast during the day wearing short sleeves, but in the evening be sure to take a jacket with you.
April
Warm sunny weather sets in at the resorts, but it is still too early to swim – the sea is cold and sometimes the wind blows.

June
By the end of the month, the sea warms up to a comfortable temperature and the beach season begins. It’s hot near the coast and cool in the mountains – ideal for excursions and sightseeing trips.

July

August
The end of summer is an active tourist season. The sea is warm, there is no longer any intense heat, and the markets are filled with delicious local fruits.

Weather in Georgia in autumn
September
The velvet season begins on the Black Sea coast – warm sea and comfortable air temperature. Grapes, watermelons, tangerines and hazelnuts are ripening.

It’s still warm in the mountains; September is a great time for excursions. Prices are starting to drop as most tourists go home.
October
In October until the middle of the month it is warm and you can swim. It gets noticeably cold in the mountains and there are frosts at night. If you are going on an excursion, be sure to take warm clothes.

Tourists come in October to travel around the country and attend the harvest festival, which runs until October 20th. Later the rainy season begins and the beaches are closed.
November
The weather becomes autumnal – it often rains, it gets colder and a cold wind blows from the sea. A real golden autumn with warm days continues only in Adjara.
