Azerbaijan is a colorful country that will delight you with a huge selection of all kinds of souvenirs, just don’t forget to bargain, here bargaining is the whole point of trade.

The main souvenir that you can bring from Azerbaijan, and for which this state is famous, is a carpet. Local craftsmen are famous far beyond the country’s borders. There are many techniques here that are passed down from generation to generation and are kept in the strictest confidence. Before purchasing, I advise you to visit the carpet museum in Baku. The choice of carpets is huge, they are sold everywhere, but the prices are high, although it cannot be otherwise, since everywhere they are handmade, and such products cannot be cheap. Prices start at $100 for the smallest rug. The older the carpet, the more valuable it is, but you are unlikely to be able to buy such a carpet on the street and you will definitely have problems taking it outside the country.

A good souvenir would be the national “Armuda” glasses, which are made in the shape of a pear and most often Azerbaijanis drink tea from them. Thanks to this glass shape, the tea stays hot for a long time. The glass does not have a handle, but this is not a problem, since over time you will learn to hold it by the top. Tourists often bring home entire sets of such glasses. On average, a set of these glasses costs around $30, but glasses with different patterns cost more.

For something delicious, bring white cherry jam. Different jams are prepared in Azerbaijan, but this is considered the most unusual. You can buy this jam in regular grocery stores or supermarkets. The jam is sold in tightly sealed factory packaging, so there is no need to worry about the fact that you will not be able to take it home.

For women, especially for mothers, a tablecloth made of rubble would be a good gift. Such a tablecloth will look very bright and at the same time very rich on the festive table. It is extremely rare to see such a tablecloth here.

And the last thing you should bring is copper utensils. In Azerbaijan you can buy a samovar, which is similar to ours only in appearance, but in terms of the principle of operation there are significant differences and, unlike Russia, in Azerbaijan the samovar is fully used for its intended purpose, and not just as decoration.

There are a lot of souvenirs and when you start buying them, your eyes will run in different directions from the assortment and variety.
